STEPS INTO NATURE….Two independent expressive writing workshops in Berlin

Location: Berlin’s Viktoria Park, Kreuzberg (wet weather alternative nearby)

Greek psychologist and author Dimitra Didangelou will be flying in to Berlin to host two very special one-day expressive writing workshops.

Combining the joys of writing, nature and personal growth, the workshops will explore and employ the techniques of expressive writing with the aim of enabling you to write freely and without fear of criticism.

Course I: For new attendees who haven’t participated in previous workshops with Dimitra. We’ll meet at Berlin’s Viktoria Park and Dimitra will lead you through a series of writing exercises and prompts that use nature’s symbols to help you find your authentic voice and gain new perspectives. 

Course II: Writing through transitions for new and old participants. Autumn is a transitional season which brings change to our lives. Over the course of the afternoon in Viktoria Park, Dimitra is going to use autumn symbols aiming to explore changes and their impact on our personal story.

The workshops are independent. Attending Course I is not a requirement for attending Course II, they are complimentary courses. This workshop is ideal for new writers, if you’re struggling with writers’ block, or if you’re simply fascinated by what lies beneath the surface of the mind. The style of the workshop is experiential.

On the day all you will need will be a pen, paper, and comfortable shoes. No previous writing experience necessary. The group will be limited to 10 participants, so please email dimitra@empowerpsyche.org to reserve your spot.

What is expressive writing?

Expressive writing is a powerful tool which uses specific techniques to access buried thoughts, feelings and images. By allowing emotions and life experiences to flow out onto paper, we bring balance back into our lives and promote mental wellbeing.

DIMITRA DIDANGELOU is a psychologist, science journalist and author who aims to help people gain insight and bring balance into their lives through expressive writing. Alongside campaigning to raise public awareness about mental health issues, she is the founder of “Psyche”, an institute which offers online workshops promoting conscious living (www.empowerpsyche.org). Her training includes Advanced Study in Therapeutic Writing (The Center for Journal Writing in Denver, CO, USA), an MSc in Psychology and the Mass Media, a BA in Psychology and a Certificate in Philosophical Counseling and Psychotherapy.
